The Origins of the Title, the Image and the Drawing of the Mother of Perpetual Light

(This is written in response to the webmaster’s request to write on the origin of the drawing of the Mother of Perpetual Light.)

Our Lady revealed Herself as the Mother of Perpetual Light to the recipient in a poem in 1995 during the construction of the grotto.  Please read the poem titled Mother of Perpetual Light, 4-22-1995.  However, during the locutions that followed the recipient saw Her image under different titles such as Our Lady of Grace, Immaculate Heart of Mary, Our Lady of Fatima, and Our Lady of Guadalupe among other titles.  This occurred mostly during the recitation of the rosary with the prayer group on Wednesdays.  He did not know that the Mother of Perpetual Light had a different image than the ones he had so far seen.

On 3-20-1999 during the rosary at a conference, he saw Our Lady as he had never seen Her before.  He saw the Blessed Mother appear as a beautiful Lady with the Holy Spirit, as a Dove, above Her head.  The Holy Spirit’s radiating Light entirely surrounded the Blessed Mother.  She was holding Baby Jesus, Who was dressed in swaddling clothes.  Her arms were partially extended away from Her body as if She were sharing Her Son with the world.  Rays of Light, which were radiating downward, were also originating from Jesus’ hands.  The Blessed Mother’s gown was white and the outer garment or mantle, which covered Her head and fell to Her feet, was blue.  She had a sash around Her waist, which was slightly a different shade of blue.  The mantle’s entire edge was trimmed with stars, which were also giving off Light.  Two small angels, who were looking up, were at Her feet, one at each side.  There was something below the Blessed Mother, but the recipient couldn’t make out what it was.  He wondered what type of image of the Blessed Mother this represented since he had never seen Her this way before.  The words came, “I am the Mother of Perpetual Light.”

Later, still at the conference during Holy Mass, the recipient once again saw the same image, but this time he could see that She was standing on a cloud and that the earth was, at a distance, below Her.  He noticed that the beams of Light from Baby Jesus were filling the earth.  He was made aware that the rays of Light from Baby Jesus’ hands were graces to renew the earth.

In 2001 the recipient was prompted to ask Linda, a lady who comes to the rosary and is an artist, to portray in a drawing or painting the image of Our Lady as Mother of Perpetual Light.  He described his vision to Linda, who took notes and did a pencil drawing of the image.  However, she didn’t feel that she could frame the drawing.  Upon the recipient’s request, a very gifted couple, who also come to the rosary, matted and framed the drawing.

The drawing can be seen on the website under the titles “Drawing” or “Photos.”  Please also read the following poems that refer to either the title or the image:  Mother of Perpetual Light 6-28-2001,    To Linda 6-29-2001,     To Those I Have Called 8-23-2001,     In The Light 5-30-1995,  and as well as the previously mentioned    Mother of Perpetual Light 4-22-1995.
